A group of people share a limited space – a lifesize box that can be looked into from all sides. Some try to get inside the box, others demand to have the space all to themselves, while the next group tries to overcome all boundaries. The audience becomes part of the production that takes place inside as well as outside the box. Is the box an enclosure, a prison, a shelter, a comfort zone or a sports field? Or is it the box in your head? Above all, “Out of the Box” is a humorous contemplation of adjustment and keeping a distance, but also a song about the happiness that can be found in boundaries.

 

The Dutch company The100Hands is led by Mojra Vogelnik Škerlj and Jasper Džuki Jelen this is its second appearance at THINK BIG! They create physical, interactive performances based on dance, architecture, and psychology, which all focus on connections: Connections with yourself, with others, and with the world around you. They see the body as a compass that clearly indicates the direction in the encounters of people – as long as you know how to read the signs.
