POSTO
In their projects, Alfredo Zinola and Micaela Kühn Jara explore the relationship between society and childhood. In their new piece, ‘Posto’, no one stays seated. Three large balls and three dancers invite the audience to join in: to run, dance and move – and sometimes to stand still and watch together. How do you do that together? ‘Posto’ opens a space in which everyone can find their own spot. It is a play about the sense of connection we feel when sharing a space together.
The starting point is three oversized, inflatable balls, which, as the sole props, define the empty space. They invite interaction and trigger a variety of reactions. How can individual needs for closeness, distance or observation be translated into a shared experience? The interplay between the dancers and the audience takes centre stage, making community, respect and consideration tangible for everyone.
Alfredo Zinola is a choreographer and performer who has been collaborating with producer and outreach coordinator Micaela Kühn Jara since 2015. Together, they develop pieces for young audiences and create formats that are often co-authored in collaboration with other artists. They are based in Cologne and Munich.
