Miller de Nobili (D)
MAIN CHARACTER: LOST
Together with three dancers from the worlds of breaking, hip-hop and contemporary dance, Maria Chiara de Nobili & Alexander Miller translate inner chaos into physical movement: stress, silence, anger, hope, the feeling of being alone and misunderstood. Dance, text and sound merge into an emotional hybrid language that raises questions about growing up in today’s world. Direct. Honest. Urgent. Because it’s not about finding the ‘right’ path. But your own.
What remains of you when everyone wants something from you? In “Main Character: Lost”, Miller de Nobili explores what it means to grow up in a world that pulls you in every direction at once. Parents, school, Instagram, the pressure to take care of everything and perform: all at the same time. It can be overwhelming and sometimes too much. It can make you feel lost. Everything is too much and, at the same time, too little.
Miller de Nobili was founded in 2020 by Maria Chiara de’ Nobili and Alexander Miller as a platform that combines breaking, contemporary, and urban dance theater with acting techniques. Their first full-length piece was presented at the Tanzplattform Deutschland in 2022. In 2025, they were awarded the City of Dresden’s Sponsorship Prize.
