Léonard Engel (D)
Muffensausen
world premiere
Léonard Engel explores the world of emotions and shows just how daunting it can be to confront and express them. Three performers explore their ever-changing emotions and the place where these feelings reside – both within their bodies and on stage. Fear, joy, anger, loneliness, excitement: as they express what is going on inside them, their surroundings also change. When their imagination runs wild, the stage becomes a living playground. And little by little, what was once so frightening is suddenly: not so bad after all.
The dancer, choreographer and performer Léonard Engel (born in 1987 in Mulhouse, France) trained at the Paris Opera Ballet School, danced with various major ballet companies and has been working as a freelance artist for ten years. In his pieces, he asks: How do we feel in our bodies? How do we reveal or conceal who we are?
