“BEYOND” transcends boundaries: six energetic performers work together to overcome every obstacle with equal parts skill and poetry. Each of them is an expert in a different discipline, from dance and acrobatics to pole dancing. Using ladders of varying sizes, they create a dynamic and rather unstable playing field which they explore together. The members of Circumstances dance, climb, float and risk everything in the choreography by Belgian artist Piet Van Dycke.

Together, they explore just how far they can go. The ladders are more than mere props – they become unpredictable partners, but also a powerful symbol of connection. How can bridges be built and ridiculous boundaries made to disappear?

The company is appearing at the THINK BIG! Festival for the second time.

Piet Van Dycke is the artistic director of the multidisciplinary company Circumstances. In his work, the choreographer blends contemporary dance with circus arts and playfully explores their boundaries. Circumstances is currently touring successfully worldwide with several productions.
