Anna Konjetzky (D)
SOUND ON!
A performance blending dance and concert
Anna Konjetzky’s new piece for young audiences straddles the line between dance and concert. A rap of feminist voices – wild, thoughtful, rebellious – that calls out: Turn up the volume, be brave, believe in yourself, stand up for yourself and your friends! Three dancers and a singer are groping their way to find their place in the world. Using their bodies, a live camera, beats and their voices, they set out in search of role models, form communities, want to be seen and heard, and allow themselves to be different. They challenge injustices – and they do so with power and joy. Quotes, video and music are sampled into a collage of protest, in which the echo of many multilingual voices resounds through the ages into the present day: It’s cool to be a feminist!
Anna Konjetzky is a choreographer from Munich. Since 2005, she has been creating dance pieces and dance installations that have been performed internationally in theaters and at festivals.
